The Irish Immigration Pastoral Center (IIPC)
is a non-profit, volunteer managed organization assisting Irish immigrants in the San Francisco and the Bay Area. IIPC is committed to providing advice, information,
advocacy, referral and support for immigrants on issues related to immigration, employment, housing, career, education and social services.

WHO WE ARE

Established in 1997, the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center is a self-help organization run by and for immigrants. The Center provides a number of professional services for immigrants in San Francisco and the surrounding California area. The Center is funded almost entirely by the community in the area. FR. BRENDAN MCBRIDE
Fr. Brendan McBride, native of Donegal, has been in San Francisco since 1996. Fr. Brendan has widely traveled throughout his vocation. He has extensive experience working with Irish immigrants having spent 7 years in the UK, then working with the Irish in Brooklyn and Queens, and more recently here in San Francisco where he has been Immigrant Chaplain in St. Phillips.

 

WHO SUPPORTS US

Significant support comes from the generosity of individuals and businesses. We are also supported by the Irish government.The IIPC provides a range of opportunities to develop skills and friendships, and to participate within the organization and the wider community. Volunteers are an essential part of our organization.

 

OUR SERVICES

DROP IN CENTER

Here you will find friendly and supportive staff and volunteers who provide a "home base" for immigrants. At the Drop-In Center you can ask immigration and citizenship questions, get service referrals, check out our job and housing listings, find out what social events are happening, share concerns and network with other immigrants.

ACCOMMODATION

EDUCATION & CAREER RESOURCE EVENINGS

If you are thinking about going to school in San Francisco, the IIPC can assist you in filling out applications for admission and financial aid. The IIPC has information about different programs run by the universities and colleges that can help you start towards a degree or certificate in academics or vocational training. The Education and Career Resource can also help you find information about various careers. We are here to help you research the possibilities.

 

SEMINARS

IIPC holds seminars from time to time. We have covered immigration issues, Green Card applications & Working & Living in Ireland.

 

COMPUTER FACILITIES & CLASSES

The Center has 6 computers all equipped with Windows 98/2000 or XP. Each computer has Microsoft Office 2000 installed and all have DSL Internet access.

The Center holds beginner and intermediate computer classes covering areas such as Windows 98/2000/XP, Word, Excel, Internet and Email.
